Second ‘Owarimonogatari’ Anime Adaptation to Premiere as Special

At the end of the rebroadcast of Owarimonogatari on Saturday, it was revealed that the second installment of the series will premiere as a two-day special on August 12 and August 13 on Tokyo MX at 7:00 pm, followed by BS11, Tochigi TV, and Gunma TV. Abema TV will also stream the special.

The adaptation will span for seven episodes, covering the Mayoi Hell, Hitagi Rendezvous, and Ougi Dark arcs from the fifth volume of Monogatari Series: Final Season. The main cast and staff will reprise their roles from the first Owarimonogatari TV anime. ClariS will perform new ending theme song titled "SHIORI."

The first Owarimonogatari anime adaptation covered NisiOisiN's third and fourth volume of Monogatari Series: Final Season. The series premiered in Fall 2015 with a total of 12 episodes, and was directed by Akiyuki Shinbou and Tomoyuki Itamura at studio Shaft. Crunchyroll and Daisuki simulcast the series as it aired in Japan.

TV Anime ‘Starmyu 2nd Season’ Gets Special Episode

Upon the broadcast of Starmyu 2nd Season final episode on Tuesday, it was announced that it will get a special episode airing on June 26, 2017. It will be airing 27-minute duration of the musical that they do for this season.

The CM after the broadcast of the final episode also revealed that the ☆2nd SHOW TIME 12☆, which is ending theme song CD (shown right), will include the original, team Hiiragi, and all star versions.

Starmyu is an original musical anime that started airing on Fall 2015. It has also received 2-episode OVA sequel on July and September 2016. Second season started this April and ended Tuesday on June 20, 2017.

Seiyuu Keiji Fujiwara Returning to Voice Acting

Talent management company Air Agency announced on Friday that voice actor Keiji Fujiwara will be making a return to his career as a voice actor. Fujiwara took a medical leave in August 2016 with an undisclosed medical condition. The agency further stated that Fujiwara will slowly resume his career while taking his physical health into account.

Fujiwara has been replaced in several anime series in the past couple of months, including Hiroshi Nohara from Crayon Shin-chan by Toshiyuki Morikawa, Shirou Fujimoto from Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen by Hiroaki Hirata, Hannes from Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2 and Isami Enomoto from Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2202: Ai no Senshi-tachi by Kenjirou Tsuda.

Active in the voice acting industry since the 1980s, Keiji Fujiwara has voiced characters from various media, including drama CDs, tokusatsu shows, video games, live-action series, and Western cartoons.

The official website for previously announced Princess Principal TV anime has announced additional cast members and revealed a new preview. The anime will air on Sundays at 11:00 p.m. via Tokyo MX starting July 9, followed by KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, BS11, and AT-X.

The official website of Enmusubi no Youko-chan, the upcoming Japan broadcast of Huyao Xiao Hongniang, has announced additional Japanese-language cast members. The supernatural comedy series, adapted from a manhua series and also known by its English title Fox Spirit Matchmaker, is scheduled to premiere on July 1 at 9:00 p.m. on Tokyo MX1.

Fifth Season of ‘Yami Shibai’ Announced for Summer 2017

The official website of Yami Shibai has announced that the short anime series will receive a fifth season scheduled to air on TV Tokyo in July 2017. Staff and cast members were also announced.

The fifth season will seek to create "girls' style horror," featuring scripts written by female writers. The writers include stage play actresses Yuuko Ichiki and Satoko Kishino, as well as former television actress Ayako Yamaguchi.
